In a strategic move set to accelerate India’s defence manufacturing capabilities, TEMBO Defence, the wholly owned subsidiary of TEMBO Global Industries Ltd. (NSE: TEMBO), has received a comfort letter from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for the allotment of 100 acres of industrial land in Amravati, located near Nagpur.

This allotment is a crucial milestone in TEMBO’s expansion strategy as it forays deeper into India’s defence sector. The planned state-of-the-art facility will be dedicated to the manufacturing of arms and ammunition, positioning TEMBO Defence as a key player in the mission to build a self-reliant defence ecosystem in India.
Strengthening ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ Goals
The land allocation underlines the government’s continued efforts to promote indigenous manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ programs. The upcoming manufacturing unit will enhance domestic production capabilities, reduce dependency on imports, and generate employment opportunities across the region.
Once operational, the facility will manufacture advanced defence-grade equipment with a focus on precision engineering, innovation, and export-readiness, aligning with India’s broader goals of strengthening national security through local production.
Mr. Sanjay J. Patel, Managing Director of TEMBO Global Industries Ltd., expressed his appreciation and optimism:
“This allocation is a major leap toward realizing our long-term vision of supporting India’s self-reliance in the defence sector. The new plant will not only enhance our manufacturing capabilities but also bring socio-economic benefits to the region by generating jobs, developing infrastructure, and building a skilled local workforce. We are grateful to MIDC for their support and look forward to delivering high-impact outcomes through this project.”

Building on this momentum, 2024 marked a significant diversification phase, with the company venturing into two high-potential sectors: defence manufacturing through TEMBO Defence and renewable energy via its entry into solar power solutions.
The Road Ahead
The new Amravati facility will play a pivotal role in driving TEMBO Defence’s long-term vision. Equipped with advanced technologies, automation, and a dedicated R&D focus, the plant is expected to become a hub for high-quality, scalable, and export-worthy defence production.
Additionally, the project is projected to create hundreds of direct and indirect employment opportunities, support MSMEs in the supply chain, and contribute significantly to regional industrial development.
With this expansion, TEMBO Global Industries continues to solidify its position as a multi-vertical industrial powerhouse, committed to supporting India’s critical sectors through innovation, quality, and strategic foresight.
Tembo Global Industries Ltd. is making significant strides in diversifying its business portfolio. The establishment of the new Amravati facility seems to be a strategic move to enhance their defence production capabilities. It’s impressive how they’re integrating advanced technologies and automation to ensure high-quality outputs. The projected employment opportunities and support to MSMEs indicate a strong commitment to regional development. Winning prestigious awards like the Business World International Awards 2025 further solidifies their reputation. How do they plan to maintain this growth trajectory while ensuring sustainability? I’m particularly curious about their long-term vision for the defence sector and how it aligns with national interests.
